-Firstly it is important to keep the dog rehydrated. Put a clean fresh bowl of water out 3 times in the day.
- Add a probiotic to the dog’s water & food.
- Fast the dog up between 24 to 30 hours, this will help him to give the gut a bit of a rest to hopefully recover from the cause of the sickness and diarrhea in dogs. Puppies younger than 7 or 8 months should not be fasted longer than on day.
- Changing your dog's diet to a normal, bland diet for a while may help with sickness and diarrhea in dogs. Instead of your dog's normal food, give him small servings of cooked white rice, boiled chicken, boiled turkey, scrambled egg, boiled egg, boiled potato or baked potato with no seasonings, oils, butters or grease 4 to 5 times a day.
